This policy explains what information Gap Dash collects, why, and the choices you have. We've kept it short and in plain English.
Playing without an account
You can play Gap Dash without giving us any personal information. Your coins, unlocks, best score and settings are stored in your browser's local storage on your own device. We can't see this data, and clearing your browser data deletes it.
If you create an account
Accounts are optional. If you sign up, we use Google Firebase to run your account and store your progress. We collect:
- Email sign-up: your email address, a securely stored password (we never see it), and the nickname you choose, if any.
- Google sign-in: your name, email address and profile picture link, as shared by Google.
- Game progress: your coins, unlocked items, equipped items, best score and number of games played.
We use this only to let you sign in and to keep your progress in sync across devices. We don't sell your information, and we don't send marketing emails. We may send you account emails such as an email confirmation or a password reset you request.
Monthly leaderboard
When you play while signed in, each game is a ranked run. To check scores fairly, the game records your moves during the run (which direction you steered, and when) and sends that recording to our server, which replays it to confirm your score. We keep the recording of your best run each month so we can review top runs before awarding prizes, and we delete older ones.
Your leaderboard name and score are public. If you don't choose a name, we show an automatic one like "Driver 0123", never your real name or email.
Advertising and cookies
Gap Dash is free because it shows ads. We may use Google AdSense, including ads designed for games. Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this website and other websites. Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visits to this site and other sites on the internet.
You can opt out of personalised advertising by visiting Google Ads Settings. You can learn more at How Google uses information from sites that use its services. Where the law requires it, for example in the European Economic Area and the UK, we'll ask for your consent before using non-essential cookies.
Analytics
We may use Google Analytics to understand how many people play and which pages are useful. This data is aggregated and isn't used to identify you personally.
Where your data is stored
Account and progress data is stored by Google Firebase on Google Cloud servers, which may be located outside your country. Google applies its own security measures to this data.
Children
Gap Dash is a general-audience game and isn't directed at children under 13. We don't knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has created an account, contact us and we'll delete it.
Deleting your account
You can ask us to delete your account and all saved progress at any time by emailing you@example.com from the address you signed up with. We'll confirm once it's done.
Changes to this policy
If we change this policy, we'll update the date at the top of this page. Significant changes will also be noted in our patch notes.
